World`s Deadliest mysteries around number 13

It is said that Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed Jesus was the 13th man to take his place at the Last Supper. Then many Christians believe that Jesus was crucified on Friday.  Earth sure is mysterious. The world we live in is surrounded by a number of legends, beliefs, and myths. One of such belief is the bad luck and superstitions linked with the number 13. The belief is so strong that even today some people flat out, refuse to fly, make business deals or get married on this date. Most hotels in China and America do not have a thirteenth floor. Even houses after 12 are numbered 12 1/2 and not 13. Here are a few of the mysteries relating to the number 13 that happened down the history.

Columbia Space Shuttle Tragedy

The Columbia Space Shuttle went into space on 1/16/2003. Adding all the number of this date we get the number 13. Upon its reentry into Earth, the shuttle exploded causing the death of all the crew members.

The United States of America

A close look at the symbol of the United States of America, we see the number 13 all over it. The seal has two sides and there is the number 13 there. There are also 13 leaves, 13 olive seeds and 13 arrows. Also there is a 13 on the head of the eagle.

Failure of Apollo 13

Apollo 13 was the single unsuccessful mission by the United States of America. The shuttle was supposed to land on the moon but on April 13, 1970 an oxygen tank exploded causing the ground and the flight crew to go through a number of intense and difficult days. Even though the mission failed, but because of its association to the number 13 it made its mark in world history.

The Thirteen Club

In the late 1800s, the group The Thirteen Club wanted to debunk the legend that seating 13 people at a table would result in the death of one of them in the year to follow. They met on the 13th of the month and had dinner. They purposely spilled salt on the table without throwing it over their shoulders. They also fined members who showed up late 13 cents. Members of the club included five U.S. presidents: Benjamin Harrison, Grover Cleveland, William McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt and Chester A. Arthur. Two of these presidents were shot!

Cosmic mystery

The number 13 is also a cosmic mystery. Some findings indicate a 13th zodiac sign that has been revealed by NASA. However, no valid proof has been found yet.
